Στον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό επιλέχθηκαν 33 εξαιρετικά εμπνευσμένες ταινίες από 14 χώρες.

Η επιλογή έγινε από τον Γιώργο Τσαγγάρη, ιδρυτή και διευθυντή του Φεστιβάλ του Animafest Κύπρου και τον Gerben Schermer (NL), επιμελητή κινουμένων σχεδίων και σύγχρονης τέχνης, και περιλαμβάνει έργα πολλά υποσχόμενων νεοφερμένων αλλά και καταξιωμένων δεξιοτεχνών.

Στόχος των προγραμματιστών είναι, όπως πάντα, να διευρύνουν την αντίληψή μας για τα κινούμενα σχέδια προβάλλοντας τη δουλειά των συγγραφέων που τολμούν να ξεπεράσουν τα όρια. Θα απονεμηθούν δύο Grand Prix: ένα από τα καλύτερα Narrative και ένα από τα καλύτερα Non-Narrative short.

Το φεστιβάλ δίνει μια πλατφόρμα σε μερικές από τις πιο καινούργιες φωνές της σύγχρονης σκηνής κινουμένων σχεδίων, ενώ πάντα προσεγγίζει το κοινό, που είναι ο στόχος και το επίκεντρό μας.

Το Εθνικό Πρόγραμμα φέτος, θα περιλαμβάνει μια πλούσια επιλογή από εκδηλώσεις sidebar από νέους ανερχόμενους καλλιτέχνες στο Animation, τη Μουσική και τις Εικαστικές Τέχνες. Την επιμέλεια του προγράμματος για την Κύπρο είχαν η γραφίστας Πόπη Πισσουρίου (Κύπρος), ο brand and motion designer Denis Constantinou (Κύπρος) και η εικαστικός Ελένη Χανδριώτου (Κύπρος). Επιλέχθηκαν 4 ταινίες στον Εθνικό διαγωνισμό και 9 ταινίες στο Κυπριακό Πανόραμα.

Οι 14 ταινίες από 7 διαφορετικές χώρες στο Διαγωνιστικό Πρόγραμμα Παιδικού και Νέου Κοινού επιλέχθηκαν από τον Καλλιτεχνικό Διευθυντή Γιώργο Τσαγγάρη μαζί με την ομάδα προεπιλογής του παιδικού προγράμματος Άκος Ζελένη (Ουγγαρία), Ελένη Χανδριώτου (Κύπρος), Μαριάννα Παρίση (Κύπρος) και Γιώργος Τσαγγάρης (Κύπρος).

Η κριτική επιτροπή

Το Grand Prix Δημήτρης Εϊπίδης για την Αφήγηση, το Grand Prix Δημήτρης Εϊπίδης για το Μη Αφηγηματικό ο Διεθνής Διαγωνισμός και το Πρώτο Βραβείο στον Εθνικό Διαγωνισμό, θα αποφασιστούν από τη διεθνή  κριτική επιτροπή. Μέλη της κριτικής επιτροπής για την έκδοση του 2024 είναι ο σύγχρονος καλλιτέχνης Marko Tadić (Κροατία), η παραγωγός ταινιών και φεστιβάλ Nadezhda Svirskaia (Ρωσία) και η καταξιωμένη Κύπρια ποιήτρια Αυγή Λίλη.

Η καλύτερη ταινία στον διαγωνισμό Παιδικού και Νεανικού Κοινού θα αποφασιστεί από τα μέλη της νεανικής κριτικής επιτροπής του φεστιβάλ.
